To drive the development forward, the Norwegian government will donate 111m Norwegian kroner to the LINCCS project to help reduce costs for new carbon storage facilities by 70% and to assist with decarbonisation of the maritime industry.
Wärtsilä will lead the project with support from Sustainable Energy Catapult Centre and SINTEF Energy and will see cross-over with developments from project partners including Aker Solutions, TotalEnergies and Equinor.

Harnessing support from across the entire group, Wärtsilä Exhaust Treatment will expand its engineering facility in Moss, Norway to support development and testing of CCS solutions.
