TotalEnergies’ Gas Vitality, the first LNG bunker vessel based in France, refuelled the 15,000 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) LNG-powered CMA CGM BALI containership with around 6,000m3 of LNG while CMA CGM BALI carried out cargo operations.
Commenting on the operation, Jerome Leprince-Ringuet, Vice-President Marine Fuels, TotalEnergies, said, “This landmark operation also demonstrates our continued support to the growing role of LNG in shipping’s energy transition.”

Gas Vitality is TotalEnergies second-chartered LNG bunker vessel, with its first, the 18,600m3 Gas Agility owned by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd (MOL) having been operating at the Port of Rotterdam since November 2020.
The 135m Gas Vitality is capable of loading and bunkering at a rate of 2000m3/hr and comes fitted with technology that allows for onboard re-liquefaction of the boil-off gas, which is used for propulsion and on-board power generation.
