The new line of products eliminates the need for transportation of gas cannisters and Dewar flasks, allowing laboratories further control over their gas supplies.
With the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic causing disruptions in supply the world over, on-site gas generation can reduce cost and improve efficiency for company’s supply lines.
Made in the UK, the generators separate nitrogen, oxygen and water through the pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technique, producing three streams of air and nitrogen gases.
The product’s HMI touchscreen gives users a high degree of control when it comes to flow rates and displays various real-time readings, including inlet/outlet pressures, trend graphics, process to flow and alarms, service alarms and a service records page.

Commenting on the company’s product, Joshua Chapman, Marketing Director, SLS, said, “SLS is always attuned to its customers’ need, and is delighted to be the exclusive supplier of the SLS Lab Pro product range of gas generators – including nitrogen and zero air, oxygen and industrial gas – along with liquid nitrogen generators.”
The touchscreen also provides easy control of the device’s internal PSA combined with a cryo-cooler, helium compressor and internal dewar. Using an oil-free compressor, the LN2 generator uses its fully automated system to produce gas that is liquefied using the technology’s powerful cooling system.
A 1.5 metre vacuum hose allows for easy dispensing from the vacuum insulated tank. Suitable for most climates, the units are capable of operating with air cooling up to 32°C. When used in temperatures up to 52°C SLS recommends the use of the LN20 water cooled system.
Chapman added that the main advantage of generating gas and LN2 supply on-site is the elimination of country-wide transportation, thereby reducing the product’s footprint.
