The report outlines the impact that the company and its solutions have on the environment and in the communities where they operate.
This includes following the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.
The report was compiled in accordance with the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and completed and published earlier this week (20th July).
In a year dominated by the effects of the global pandemic, Nippon Gases exceeded most of its environmental, social and governance targets covering the three areas related to its philosophy – Proactive, Innovative & Collaborative – as well as the pillars of its strategy and the purpose behind its sustainability agenda: Making life better through gas technology.

“Nippon Gases has set its Sustainable Development Goals to contribute to a better and more sustainable future,” said Eduardo Gil, President of Nippon Gases.
“These goals are classified in four priority areas: Company governance and compliance, which includes a strong culture of compliance and ethics; global environment, including a strong drive to reduce emissions of any sort and to reduce waste; society, including community engagement activities and contributing to the sustainability of our customers; and people, targeting to be the safest company as well as a highly diverse and inclusive company.”
The report published shares the continued commitment and progress in Nippon Gases’ sustainability focus areas, which include resource optimisation, energy efficiency, water usage, waste management, minimising emissions, and customers sustainable technology solutions.
Nippon Gases also states in the sustainability report its commitment to safety – priority number one for the company – as well as compliance and ethical behaviour, diversity, talent management and community engagement. These non-financial goals and measures are core elements of Nippon Gases integrated sustainability strategy.
