The state-of-the-art plant, located at 1045 Harding Court and slated for completion in the first quarter of 2021, will produce life-saving gases for hospitals and essential raw materials for manufacturers across Indiana and the Midwestern US.
gasworld understands the new ASU will be capable of producing up to 500 tonnes per day (tpd) of liquid atmospheric products depending on the operating environments and Messer’s customer requirements.

Messer currently operates six sites in Indiana and employs approximately 90 people in the state. This new investment in Indianapolis is anticipated to create 23 new, permanent jobs by the end of 2021. Messer also estimates that 60 to 80 temporary local jobs will be created during the construction phase of the project.
The ASU will produce medical and industrial gases for several industries – delivered direct or through Messer’s trusted distributor network – that are vital to the local and regional economy, including: healthcare, chemical, food processing, welding, glass and metal fabrication.
