The 2.5 day conference explores the Business Models Fit for Purpose in the Middle East and North Africa – still a region of great growth opportunity for the gases industry, but one also facing a series of interrelated challenges as it moves forward into the next decade.
The event begins today with an exhibition programme of 40+ key product, equipment and services innovators.
Exhibition activity is currently underway, with strong footfall observed and many delegates already making the most of the invaluable networking and knowledge sharing opportunities this provides.
Prior to the conference’s official opening and content agenda tomorrow, delegates will be treated to an evening of fine dining and networking at tonight’s Welcome Reception Dinner sponsored by technology innovator Anova.
The event’s sponsors, namely Air Products (Gold Sponsor), Anova and Dohmeyer (Silver Sponsors), INOXCVA (Bronze Sponsor) and Brothers Gas (Lanyards Sponsor), are all expected to be present and utilising the contact opportunities under the stars at the venue’s ‘effortlessly chic’ Firefly Terrace.
Keynote
More than 200 delegates from around the world, including strong local participation from the MENA region, will see the conference get officially underway tomorrow morning, with a keenly anticipated opening keynote from Air Products Chairman, President and CEO Seifi Ghasemi.
“This region means more to Seifi than just business – it is part of his DNA – and I wish to thank him for taking time out of his worldwide travel schedule to share his thoughts and visions,” enthused a proud John Raquet, Publisher and CEO of gasworld.
Ghasemi became Chairman, President and CEO of Air Products in July 2014. In this role, he is focused on setting the strategy and policies of the company, developing leadership, and meeting shareholder commitments.
At the MENA Conference he will discuss the significance of the region to not only the industrial gases business but industry and society as a whole, in a keynote titled From The Cradle of Civilisation to Energising the World.
Day 1 proceedings thereafter will include topics such as Successful Business Models, Downstream Project Activity in Oil & Gas and The Regional Industrial Gas Landscape, and regional case studies that include Qatar – Surviving and Re-positioning Priorities and Egypt – Reinventing Itself.
