The company’s innovative range of products will be showcased at the world’s largest trade fair and event for the sector, taking place in Dusseldorf from 12th to 15th November 2018.
Luxfer Gas Cylinders will highlight its flagship oxygen (O2) delivery systems, which include the world’s first Type 1 aluminium 300 bar medical gas cylinder. This innovative product can provide up to 50% more O2 than similar-sized 200-bar cylinders, meaning fewer customer refills and patient visits per year for better quality of life.
Also on display will be Luxfer’s 5 litre portable O2 concentrators (POCs). CE-approved, the units offer a lightweight solution to deliver O2 to ambulatory patients in a convenient, easy-to-use device.
Visitors to the Luxfer stand will be urged to support the company’s #KeepMoving challenge by jumping aboard a cross trainer. The Luxfer team hopes to keep the fitness machine moving continuously over the entire four-day event and will demonstrate the respiratory challenges people with lung conditions face every day. Guests who take up the challenge will be entered a draw to win an Apple watch.

Jeff Book, Luxfer’s European Product Market Manager said, “At Medica 2018 we will demonstrate what it’s really like to have a respiratory condition – and the benefits of using a compact, lightweight solution that allows patients to retain their independence.”
“Sadly, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) affects more than 200 million people worldwide and is the only major disease that is increasing in prevalence and on all continents. Luxfer’s O2 delivery systems help improve their quality of life by incorporating the latest technology for oxygen delivery.”
“It’s extra special to be exhibiting at Medica this year, as we celebrate 15 million medical cylinders shipped across the globe, for use in hospitals, care homes, emergency support, healthcare practices and for home therapy.”
“That’s a significant figure, and one that we hope assures patients and customers that Luxfer is a supplier of high-quality, proven products, with an unrivalled safety record.”
The 15 million milestone comes as Luxfer Holdings marks over 120 years of trading. An international company, Luxfer Gas Cylinders serves customers through six sites around the globe, in Nottingham, UK; Graham, North Carolina; Riverside, California; Gerzat, France; Shanghai, China; and Calgary, Canada. In addition, Luxfer is involved in joint ventures in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA and Delhi, India.
