The outbreak of Covid-19 has undoubtedly been the biggest talking point of them all, with the industry naturally on the frontline of efforts to fight the spread of the virus and treat those with it. With potential vaccines on the horizon, the industry will once again play a central role here providing dry ice – a solid form of CO2 – to help with challenge of delivering millions of doses at ultra-cold temperatures.
Huge orders are expected from transportation and logistics companies which will distribute vaccines in 2021. But after the CO2 shortages experienced across the US this year, many in the industry are asking if there will be enough dry ice.
In addition to shaking up the CO2 market, the Covid-19 pandemic has also spurred an investment in green recovery as many look towards a decarbonised post-pandemic world. With that shift in mind, industrial gas businesses are now more than ever investing time and effort into spearheading this revolution, with both greener innovations and operations posing as a key focus for many.
