“75 years ago, we were still driving milk around the town’s streets,” said Thomas Hoyer, Advisory Board Chairman, HOYER Group.
“Today, our tank containers travel around the world.”

Significant milestones in the history of the company include the founding of ‘Kombiverkehr’ (combined transport) in 1960, the opening of its first overseas company: HOYER USA, New York, in 1980, and generating its first £1bn in sales revenue in 2011.
In addition to providing bulk liquid gases globally, the company has contributed to recovering from the Covid pandemic and has also furthered its sustainability solutions, recognised by a recent EcoVadis award win.
In recent times, HOYER has concentrated on maximising the efficiency and sustainability of its value chain by switching to intermodal transport methods, avoiding empty repositioning, utilising lighter-weight tank containers, adopting Euro-6-compliant truck drive systems and smart-technology-assisted fleet optimisation.
Remarking upon the dynamism of the company, Hoyer added, “Standing still moves nothing. We also look forward in our anniversary year.”
He also praised Bjorn Schniederkotter, CEO, HOYER, stating that he is working intensively together with the workforce.
“We have a clear future path in sight, and together we will implement it in a sustainable, value-based way in the spirit of the international family-managed company: as a strong global community,” announced Schniederkotter.
The company also blanketed praise upon its workforce, emphasising that HOYER’s success and current ‘worldwide leading position’ is due to its international roster of dedicated employees.
Schniederkotter added, “In the anniversary year, we owe special thanks to our employees. We can always count on them when it really matters.”
