Formalising the news on Tuesday (7th September), the helium exploration company said the move has resulted in the establishment of its third core area in the Canadian province.
At present, Global Helium owns of 668,000 acres in Saskatchewan for helium endeavours.
On the news, Wes Siemens, President of Global Helium, said, “This additional acreage represents a 50% increase to our previous land position.
“This latest acquisition has made Global Helium one of the top acreage holders in the heart of Saskatchewan’s helium exploration fairway.”
In the latest edition of gasworld US, we heard from Bronwyn Eyre, Minister of Energy and Resources for the Saskatchewan Government, about the province’s helium potential.
At the time of publication, Saskatchewan has the fifth-largest helium resource in the world with significant underground reserves with some attractive geology.
In addition to that, the province currently has ten producing helium wells and Minister Eyre told gasworld the province’s ambitious goal is to eventually surpass 150 wells.
