“The Cyber Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has issued ‘Guidance on Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce’ which specifically exempts the manufacture and delivery of medical gases from any declaration for business closure by the government,” the alert said.
“California and Pennsylvania set declarations for business closure yesterday, March 19, 2020, and have also exempted the medical gas industry. Some Industrial customers may also be exempt from closure. GAWDA members should follow the attached CISA Guidance and the state documents in the COVID-19 folder on the GAWDA website to determine whether specific industries are exempt.”
The gas and medical gas safety alert – issued by GAWDA Consultant Tom Badstubner – also had attached to it the document ‘Considerations for COVID-19 Business Continuity Plan’, which outlines four stages of response.
