gasworld webinars return: 1 week to go

You are here: Home / Industry Feed / gasworld webinars return: 1 week to go

January 23, 2021 by realisma

Returning to what became a customary on-air slot of Fridays at 2:30pm GMT, the webinars will once again unite speakers and viewers from across the globe to tackle the hot topics of the day for the industry.

That begins on Friday 29th January, with a brand-new two-part series devoted to trends and talking points in the carbon dioxide (CO2) business, sponsored by leading dry ice specialist Cold Jet.

Titled Capturing Carbon Trends and also including Cold Jet as a speaker in Part 1 of the series, the webinars will explore the hot topic of Covid-19 vaccines and dry ice demand, the state of play in a US CO2 business that continued to flirt with shortages in 2020, and the significant opportunities ahead in deep decarbonisation.

Confirmed guests joining host and gasworld Global Managing Editor Rob Cockerill so far include:

  • Richard Gottwald – President and CEO of the Compressed Gas Association (CGA)
  • Dennis Hjort – Vice-President of Global DIMS & IBS at Cold Jet
  • Stephen B. Harrison – Managing Director of Sbh4 GmbH and member of the gasworld Editorial Advisory Board.

Cockerill enthused, “What a way to welcome back our popular webinars platform, I can’t wait to get into the discussion and debate next week with our audience and guests.”

“It’s a fascinating time to be in the CO2 business, arguably more than ever, and not because of mega market shortages and all the media attention that brings. It’s an enterprising time because here we are, at this incredible matrix of supply and demand, of needs and aspirations and interconnected markets.”

“On one hand we have regular tight supply, on the other we have an imperative demand for dry ice right now, and then behind all of this there’s a behemoth of decarbonisation and circular economies that the CO2 business is fundamental to.”

Vaccines and dry ice

Through dry ice, the CO2 business has an absolutely crucial role to play in one of the most important vaccination programmes in modern history.

Dry ice and equipment supply is going to be critical to keeping some vaccines at their required temperatures for storage and delivery, potentially in transit for hours or even days, across continents.

As a leading innovator and voice in this field, Cold Jet will explain during the webinar why this is the case and what such companies are doing to meet this need. Hjort will also elaborate on Cold Jet’s previous advice for the dry ice sector to upgrade its equipment and be ready to meet demand.
