As part of this preparation, the entire Ukrainian energy system will operate in isolation mode from the 24th to 26th February 2022.
Additional measures aimed at synchronising energy systems are scheduled to be completed in 2023.
Speaking at the Renpower Ukraine 2022 forum held in Kiev on 17th February, Maris Kunickis, CEO, DTEK Renewables (DTEK), said that the integration into European networks and new investments will bring the price of green energy closer to market rates.
“In the future we will not speak about the prices of ‘green energy’, ‘nuclear energy’ or ‘coal energy’. Rather, we will deal with one price for electricity in the market, as it consists of all these factors,” he added.
Considered one of Ukraine’s biggest private energy sector investors, DTEK is involved in a range of electricity generation measures as well as coal and natural gas extraction.
With a focus the European industrial gases market, DTEK will also be speaking at gasworld’s Europe Industrial Gas Summit 2022: A Renewed & Redefined Europe.
As the European gases market begins to shift towards decarbonisation and sustainability, various topics must be considered, including energy and resource security, geopolitics and the economic landscape in Europe, financing the green transition, and alternative fuels for mobility.
The Summit – to be held on the 26th and 27th April 2022 – aims to stimulate discussion around the above topics and more.
Expert comment on energy independence and Europe’s energy security will be provided by DTEK’s own Nataliia Grebeniuk, who is scheduled to speak during session one of the Summit’s ’Europe Renewed and Redefined’ topic
