The Summit On The Slopes will explore the key trends and opportunities in the carbon dioxide (CO2) supply chain today, from new and alternative sourcing channels to evolving production technologies and the development of end-user applications.
A sold-out event of 140 delegates will hear engaging speeches and valuable insights into current CO2 market conditions, and the projects and applications that will be shaping the CO2 industry in the near future.
Topics covered will include: complexities in the CO2 supply chain; lessons learned from the 2018 CO2 shortage; applications driving demands and their needs, and the alternative sourcing technologies to help meet those needs.
Experts from a variety of companies will be on hand to present and speak on applications and technologies – either in the summit or during the exhibition – including the established players in the CO2 community and technology innovators, and new entrants to the market.
This will be the second CO2 Summit gasworld has held at the Interalpen Hotel Tyrol and the event begins today at 12pm with registration and a first look at the exhibition area with 17 tabletops. This evening, delegates will head to the Mountain Hut for the welcome reception at 6pm followed by a Tyrolean buffet dinner at 7pm.
Summit
The first session tomorrow looks at shortages, sources and reliability and features presentations from Rob Cockerill, gasworld Global Managing Editor, Jennifer Willis-Jones, Fertiliser Week Senior Markets Editor, and Henrik Lyhne, Pentair Union Engineering Global Sales Leader.
Leading the drive to alternative sourcing is the theme for the second session, which will be chaired by ASCO’s Fabian Weber and includes insight from Angelica Cortinovis (TPI), Dominique Kronenberg (Climeworks), Puneet Sood (Air Liquide) and Stefan Pleintinger (Linde Engineering).
After lunch, session three throws the spotlight on the other side of the CO2 business: applications and utilisation. Dr Graciela Chichilnisky, Global Thermostat CEO and Co-Founder, will chair the final session that includes presentations from Gary Robson (Unisensor Sensorsyteme GmbH), Robert Niven (CarbonCure Technologies) and Stephen B. Harrison (sbh4 consulting).
The final session also features what promises to be an interesting end-user perspective from Heineken’s Nicolas Clerget and The Coca-Cola Company’s Rohit Thawani.
As if all of this wasn’t enough, the CO2 Summit 2019 will provide both a highly targeted audience of who’s-who in the CO2 business, as well as a promotional expo of 17 key players and technology leaders in the global CO2 sector.
“After the success of our inaugural CO2 Summit here in Innsbruck two years ago, it’s clear that there’s not just an appetite for this important gathering of the CO2 community and its customers, but also a very real need. After the CO2 shortages in Europe and Mexico last year, that hunger has only grown,” said Cockerill.
