The company on Thursday (Jan 21st) said it has been awarded a grant from the Wyoming Energy Authority to develop the site, which is set support the state on its journey to net-zero.
Tallgrass will use the new capital to fund development activities and drilling and characterisation well
Kyle Quackenbush, Segment President at Tallgrass, said, “The Eastern Wyoming Sequestration Hub project is a strong addition to our existing decarbonisation initiatives and aligns with our broader clean energy strategy.”
“This project can accelerate the state’s goal to be net negative in CO2 emission by importing and sequestering CO2 and benefit the broader Rocky Mountain and Midwest region.”
“We very much appreciate the support of the Wyoming Energy Authority and look forward to working with them, as well as other government and community leaders in Wyoming.”
The news is in addition to the company’s proposed direct investment in the Eastern Wyoming Sequestration Hub, which is designed to capture, transport and sequester CO2 across multiple states.
