The first three trailers (Jumbo) have a maximum payload of 17,990 US gallons, and the remainder of the trailers will be ‘B’ Train single axle trailers.
CRYOLOR engineers designed the LT18-155 PSIG unit to have the largest capacity of any commercial hydrogen trailer in order to maximise distribution efficiency and provide the largest payload to a customer on each delivery. It is 16 metres long and nearly four metres high.
The inner vessel is designed to meet the requirements of ASME Section VIII Division 1 while the overall trailer meets or exceeds each standard imposed by DOT MC-338, according to CIS.
Jim Payne, Vice-President of Business Development at CIS, said: “We are very excited to be part of the developing hydrogen market by supplying solutions for storage and transportation to all of our industry partners.”
CIS provides over-the-road expertise and localised cryogenic expertise from US locations at WesMor Cryogenics in Magnolia (near Houston), Texas and Alloy Custom Products in Lafayette, Indiana.
