Leading manufacturer of industrial gas and energy solutions Chart Industries (Chart) Board of Directors is now comprised of eight independent directors and its CEO and President, Jill Evanko. The company is apparently taking a leading role in equality, claiming that four of its nine directors are now female and five of the nine are “diverse”.
Commenting on the new hires, Jill Evanko, CEO and President, Chart, said, “I am thrilled to welcome Paula, Linda and Roger to our Board of Directors.”
“Their skills and interests are a unique combination that will, combined with our other Directors’ capabilities, help us as we enter the ‘Roaring 2020’s.”
With over 34 years of experience in international oilfield services with Schlumberger Ltd., Harris is a trained petroleum engineer and worked in offshore field operations before advancing into leadership roles and environmental-social sustainability. After retiring from a Directorship role at Schlumberger in 2020, Harris focused on other ventures, including serving on the boards of various groups including The Vantage Group, The Houston Children’s Museum, and the Petroleum Club of Houston.
In addition to being a founding member of the all-girls engineering school, the Young Women’s College Preparatory Academy, she received the Women Who Mean Business Lifetime Achievement award from the Houston Business Journal in 2020. Her role with Chart will see her serving on the company’s Compensation Committee.
Previously serving as Vice President, Treasurer of Medtronic, a global company specialising in medical technology, services and solutions, Harty has experience in leadership positions at a range of companies such as RTM Restaurant Group, BellSouth, and Kimberly-Clark, including holding the position of Executive Vice President, Treasurer and Group CFI at Cardinal Health in Columbus, Ohio.
Trained in economics and accounting, Harty currently serves on three boards of directors, Parker Hannifin, Wabtec, and Syneous Health. Her new role with Chart will position her on the company’s Audit Committee.
As global industry focuses on climate change and carbon emission reduction, the hiring of Strauch, chairman of The Roda Group, reflects Chart’s ambitions to take lead of the international energy transition. The Roda Group is a venture capital group that focuses on investment opportunities relative to the consequences of climate change, stress on the Earth’s natural resources and the increased demand for low carbon energy.
Strauch’s extensive experience includes developing technologies for HP and Logitech, manufacturing Game Ready, a medical physical therapy system, and formerly holding the position of CEO and chairman at Ask Jeeves (now Ask.com). A recipient of the 2002 Wheeler Oak Meritorious Award from the University of California at Berkeley, Strauch is also a trained electrical engineer and holds two patents in the area of wireless communications. His position at Chart will see him serving on its Nominations and Corporate Governance Committee.
All new hires are effective immediately.
