The Carbon Engineering Innovation Centre will be a permanent business and advanced development headquarters where the company will further develop its carbon removal and clean energy solutions.
Carbon Engineering’s direct air capture technology removes CO2 directly from the atmosphere at large scale. Its complementary AIR TO FUELS™ technology produces ultra-low carbon intensity fuels out of capture atmospheric CO2, water, and clean electricity.

Located in the Newport Beach Oceanfront Development, south of downtown Squamish, the centre will include a 1,250m2 building to be used as an operations and laboratory space, and a new, fully integrated direct air capture and AIR TO FUELS™ plant.
Carbon Engineering’s Innovation Centre is being constructed concurrently with the design and engineering work of Carbon Engineering’s first commercial plant which, when completed, will be the world’s largest direct air capture facility.
The breaking ground moment was celebrated with a small, socially distant gathering at the site in Squamish.
