Formerly known as the National Enhanced Oil Recovery Initiative, the coalition aims to raise awareness of the potential of carbon capture as a national energy, economic, and environmental strategy.
“The US must drastically increase the use of carbon capture technology in power generation in order to meet mid-century emissions reduction targets,” said Brad Crabtree, Coalition Director.
“It’s critical that major power generators are part of the conversation about economywide deployment of these technologies. We’re pleased to welcome Capital Power to the Carbon Capture Coalition and look forward to working with them to advance the conversation about the importance of increasing the use of carbon capture in power generation nationwide.”
The Carbon Capture Coalition now includes more than 70 participants and observers representing energy, industrial and technology companies, labour unions and environmental, clean energy and agricultural organisations dedicated to fostering the economywide deployment of carbon capture.
