Wuhan’s Deputy Mayor Xu Honglan visited Air Liquide’s Shanghai headquarters on Thursday (5th Nov) to present Poirot with the appointment letter.
Leaders of relevant Wuhan City government departments, Air Liquide China Chief Financial Officer Li Nan, business line representatives Yao Huanchao, Guo Guangyu, Chen Xing and others also attended the meeting.
Xu Honglan thanked Air Liquide and its employees for their positive contributions to Wuhan’s economic and social development, and highly affirmed the company’s strong support to Wuhan during the anti-epidemic period and the resumption of production after the epidemic.

She emphasized that Wuhan has broad development prospects and market space and looks forward to further deepening cooperation with Air Liquide.
“As an old friend of the people of Wuhan, I hope Mr. Nicolas Poirot will take on new responsibilities and missions and invite more French and European companies to invest in Wuhan to help Wuhan’s rapid economic development,” Xu Honglan said.
Commenting on the new appointment, Poirot said, “We are delighted to see that Wuhan has pressed the ‘accelerator button’, and economic activities have recovered rapidly under the effective measures of the government and the efforts of the people.”
