Air Products shared some of its most interesting projects from 2019, Albatross said its 2020 goal is expanding its customer base to India, the Middle East and Southeast Asia and KrioSystem enthused 2019 has been “one of the best years” for the company.
Today we hear from FasTest who since 1985 has manufactured quick-test connectors and valves that maximise efficiency, productivity and profitability for the industrial manufacturing, HVAC-R and compressed gas industries.
Relying on its core engineering skills, the US company has secured more than 50 patents, serving the design platform for innovative products that enable FasTest’s customers to improve testing, manufacturing processes and productivity.
Matthew Nolting, FasTest’s Sales Manager, tells us where the company has seen success in 2019, as well as teasing what new “revolutionary” products FasTest will bring to the market next year.
Gasworld (GW): What have been FasTest’s most popular products this year?
Matthew Nolting (MN): Our legacy G-Series quick connector products for filling cylinders that have CGA 540 and CGA 580 valves.
Our reliable, fast, and safe sealing technology has greatly driven efficiency, ergonomic and safety benefits that our customers greatly appreciate.
GW: Where has FasTest seen success in 2019?
MN: We have created a couple of new products that our customers have been asking for, for use in specialty gas filling applications that require leak tight sealing under deep vacuum.
We developed the High Purity G-Series (HPG) product line to accommodate those demanding requirements.
Customers gain added efficiencies in their specialty gas filling areas as a result of the reduced connection times.
They also can use these same fill-points for industrial pure gas when the specialty gas “racks” are complete, providing greater fill asset utilisation.
GW: What new products will FasTest be bringing to the market next year?
MN: FasTest is working on a couple of products for release in Q2 or Q3 of 2020 that are revolutionary.
Unfortunately, we cannot comment about them at this time. They solve a major safety concern for gas distributors.
GW: Where are the growth opportunities for FasTest?
MN: Growth will continue to come from fill plants that are seeking to increase capacity, improve ergonomics, and gain efficiency in their facilities.
Many opportunities exist to drive quick connection technology to global customers.
GW: What’s next for FasTest? What’s the main project you’re working on?
MN: Over the past year, FasTest has been dedicated to improving our customers experience interacting with us.
For example, a strategic initiative from 2019 drove a new lead time programme to deliver many products at MRO quantities within 48 hours, preventing unnecessary downtime.
We will continue to explore ways to simplify and enhance the customer experience, including innovative new products.
GW: Finally, if you had one thing on your bucket list for the gases industry, what would it be and why?
MN: Continued Safety. Safety needs to be constantly evaluated and improved!
The 2019 in Review Series continues tomorrow with Morgan Morris, CO2Meter’s Director of Marketing.
